Capturing something of what 'is'.

Teachers understand that what works with one group may not work with another, and the atmosphere in the morning can differ greatly from the collective mood in the afternoon.

The pitch of a task, the tone of a conversation, or the absence or presence of a single individual can profoundly shift the ambience, disproportionately affecting both teacher and peers.

Through my research into classroom dynamics, I moved beyond focusing on what ‘ought’ to be and adopted a methodology to explore and capture what is.

I found it liberating!
